Sharpening well but scars the blade January 7, 2012

I did a lot of reasearch before purchasing this particular model. It sharpens really well and the counter rotating stropping wheel leaves a fantastic finish but the rubber curtains above the grinding wheels leaves large wide burnishes on the side of the knife. It may be that the grinding dust sticks to the rubber. Although it does not affect the performance of the knife, I really don't like marking up a $150 Mac cleaver.
